The Senior Solutions Architect is the best fit for an individual who is fairly technical, but extremely organized. You'll be responsible for managing the relationship and orchestrating Kion’s delivery and support to one of our largest clients. In this customer-facing role, you'll continuously represent the Kion brand as the principal point of contact for our customer, advocating and representing your matrixed team of engineering and support personnel. You will act as the customer’s technical subject matter expert on the Kion platform, providing the customer with expert consultation on its use, deployment, integration, and support, but also be responsible for understanding and prioritizing the work backlog and customer commitments.

As a Senior Solutions Architect, you'll have daily interaction with our customer. Typical responsibilities include being the front-line and the representative for Kion, performing demonstrations, conducting technical deep-dives, answering product questions, researching, collecting, and/or generating artifacts, and the coordination, scheduling, and orchestration of other Kion team members.

You will advocate for, listen with empathy, and carefully document the customer’s needs and wants. Acting as the technical voice-of-the-customer, you will act as the project manager/business analyst for new product feature requests that support the client's missions. You will work in cooperation with Kion’s engineering and product management teams to focus development efforts, prioritizing new feature requests to help shape the future of the Kion platform to ensure customer success.

You will prioritize and organize the workload, commitments, and timelines associated with our professional services engagement, and ensure the continuous, on-time, and quality delivery of our services and product releases. You will communicate out and overcome blockers to success, ensuring all deadlines, commitments, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met.

Your responsibilities will also include participating in quarterly business reviews, preparing and presenting reports on professional services activities performed and level of effort expended, as well as metrics supporting Kion’s adherence to the contracted SLAs.


  • As the front line to our customer, you will provide superior service to enable our customers to fall in love with our product and our people – ensuring that customer champions feel heard and important to the overall mission and success of Kion.
  • Be the technical front-line and the representative of the Kion product. Quickly come up to speed and be able to perform Kion demonstrations, install and configure Kion within an AWS environment, and conduct technical deep-dives. Answer product questions, research, collect and/or generate technical artifacts.
  • Own the relationship with the customer, report on daily status, communicate out and overcome any internal blockers, and ensure that deadlines, commitments, and service level agreements are met.
  • Identify opportunities for horizontal integration across the customer’s enterprise and existing investments in enterprise toolsets.
  • Translate customer feedback and requests into the day-to-day delivery team, internal Kion product engineering and design teams, and help to shape the delivery team processes, documentation, and core Kion product.
  • Own customer feedback and requests in the product engineering and design process, helping to shape the product roadmap and feature set.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and orchestrate the activities of the other matrixed Kion support personnel who are supporting you and this important customer engagement.
  • Continually develop a deeper understanding of the customer’s mission and needs to help identify how new or upcoming Kion features can be implemented to help drive mutual success.
  • Create, update, and deliver professional services reports, including objectives and key results (OKRs), key performance indicators (KPIs), level of effort reporting, and risk mapping/documentation.


  • 5+ years of enterprise IT application and integration experience.
  • At least 2 years of direct engagement oversight and client-facing responsibilities.
  • At least 1 year of managing or participating in technical teams with a focus in cloud migration or cloud-based projects and environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Obsess over customer service and support satisfaction - embodying Kion’s mission to turn customers into fans.
  • Past experience in a highly-matrixed environment consisting of a number of different stakeholders with individual responsibilities, goals, and staffing levels for a large federal program.
  • Intermediate/advanced knowledge of one or more cloud service providers.
  • Experience using Atlassian JIRA, Confluence, Gitlab, or other equivalent software to manage and document deliverables.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or other technical areas of study, or equivalent relevant industry experience.


  • While Kion is multi-cloud, this customer engagement uses AWS. Therefore, an AWS Associate, Professional, or Specialty certification is preferred.
  • Previous experience representing COTS or GOTS software in large organizations.
  • Previous experience conducting quarterly business reviews, generating professional services reports, OKRs, instrumenting KPIs, level of effort, and risk reporting.
  • Basic understanding of security and compliance regimes in the federal space, such as the DoD CC-SRG, FedRAMP, CMMC, and the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process.
  • Understanding of cloud governance concepts, such as the financial management of cloud resources, deploying cloud accounts that meet required security and compliance regimes, concepts such as reporting and logging, automation, and single sign-on.
  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and implementations such as CloudFormation and Terraform.
  • Proficiency within the Linux command line running basic troubleshooting commands.
  • Proficiency with basic MySQL queries.
  • A US Government security clearance.
